The Ivens Hotel, Lisbon
The Ivens Hotel
The Ivens Hotel was home to the first luxury warehouse in the city in the XIX century as well as of the first Portuguese public. The iconic building is in every way representative of the XIX century, a period which has marked the spirit and culture of Lisbon. The hotel has 87 unique and comfortable rooms, of which ten are spacious suites including two signature top floor suites. The entrance was mapped to resemble the journey of Ivens and Capelo, two of greatest Portuguese explorers to unveil Africa back on the XIX century. The hotel holds three cinematic dining areas designed by Lázaro Rosa Violan who offer a journey through Italian cuisine, al fresco dining and a "Barra" area.

“Great ambiance, but this hotel has a lot to fix… service was poor from both the F&B outlets as well as the reception on some occasions, F&B overall quality was far below acceptable. Cool rooms and nice decor, although very small — hotel did not honor full Marriott Bonvoy benefits. Many other good options in town, I would avoid this one for the moment.”

“Outstanding hotel! Feels like it had been here forever but it’s new. Very hip cool vibe. Staff are top notch and very helpful. The bar and bathroom (yes bathroom) are gorgeous and quite a happening place (the bar). Staff at the bar are a bit rude and apparently not going to the same hospitality school the hotel staff are.”
